Color Flow

One thing that I find quite tedious, but also quite enjoyable is choosing interior paint color. You may recall that when my husband and I closed on our house last spring we got to painting right out of the gate...like literally (notice I said like literally because it wasn't literally... :) We started in the Master Bedroom and our color choice there dictated the rest for me. I wanted the whole house to flow...I wanted to be very intentional about how I made color choices, everything in harmony. It believe that our homes reflect not just our style or what we like to look at; our homes have the ability to reflect what it is we hold most sacred in life. One thing I have come to realize is that intention is important, we should be intentional about striving for unity, harmony......for me I want to make my home a place that when I am in it reminds to seek peace with myself and to pour that out for others (notice again I said reminds me...I am much better at choosing paint colors than finding interior peace of heart...I am working on it though...

...trust me I could take you even further down this path philosophical and spiritual metaphors in my home...but I'll stop now...If my rambling spurred any thoughts for you about your own "Interior Life" whether that be the interior of your home, the interior your soul, or how those two things work together please share...I know I find meaningful sharing helpful and other benefit as well! Of if you have no thoughts on all that, share your favorite paint color, or how you picked a certain color in your house. People are always looking for leads or recommendations on great colors!
See you in the comments section!

P.S. My reading lately has inspired these deeper thoughts about color flow...it was given to me in college by Sr. Raffaella (an Apostle of the Interior Life) I picked it up again recently...it gave great comfort then and is currently.

All that being said there are some practical reasons for choosing the palette. Stayed tuned over the next few weeks as I tell our Color Story room by room with what we have done so far.

  2. I like how you connect the "interiors" to each other. Your color combination/flow makes my eyes feel good.
